Summary

HUMMBL is open source software released under the Apache 2.0 license. This website, our MCP servers, and our SMS program are provided "as is" without warranty. By using these services, you agree to the terms below.

1. Services

HUMMBL provides the following public services:

• This website (hummbl.io) — documentation and information about the HUMMBL project.
• Public MCP server (mcp-public.hummbl.io) — a free, read-only Model Context Protocol server exposing the Base120 mental model library.
• Base120 model pages (hummbl.io/models/) — static reference pages for 120 mental models.
• SMS program — occasional text messages to subscribers who opt in, including product updates, research notifications, and event reminders.
• Storefront (pricing.hummbl.app) — paid coaching subscriptions, à la carte programs, assessments, sessions, and AI governance products, processed by Stripe (see section 6).

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any service at any time without notice.

2. Open Source License

HUMMBL software, including the Base120 mental model library, the MCP server, and the governance framework, is released under the Apache License 2.0. You are free to use, modify, and distribute the software subject to the terms of that license.

The Base120 Canonical Model Registry is governed separately. See the base120 repository for registry-specific terms.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the services for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the services
• Scrape or bulk-download content in a manner that degrades service for others
• Use the MCP server to send spam, malicious content, or excessive automated requests
• Misrepresent the origin or authorship of HUMMBL content

We may rate-limit or block access for users who violate these terms.

4. MCP Server Usage

The public MCP server (mcp-public.hummbl.io) is provided free of charge for read-only access to the Base120 model library. It is intended for integration with AI tools including ChatGPT, Codex, and the OpenAI Responses API.

The server is rate-limited. No authentication is required. No user data is collected or stored. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Commercial use of the MCP server is permitted under the Apache 2.0 license. If you require higher rate limits, SLA guarantees, or authenticated access, contact us via GitHub Issues.

5. SMS Program Terms

This section governs your participation in the HUMMBL SMS program. By opting in to receive SMS messages from HUMMBL, you agree to the terms in this section. For information about how we handle your phone number and SMS data, see our SMS Privacy Policy.

5.1 Opt-In and Consent

You will only receive SMS messages after you have explicitly opted in. You may opt in by submitting your mobile number through a HUMMBL sign-up form or by texting a designated keyword to our short code or long code. By opting in, you consent to receive recurring automated SMS messages from HUMMBL at the phone number you provided. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.

5.2 Message Frequency

Message frequency varies but is typically no more than 4 messages per month. You will not receive more than 1 message per day except in the case of a critical service alert.

5.3 Opt-Out

You may opt out at any time by replying STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, or STOP ALL to any message from us. You may reply HELP for support information. Opt-out requests are processed immediately. In rare cases, a message already in transit when you opt out may still be delivered.

5.4 Message and Data Rates

Standard message and data rates may apply to messages sent from HUMMBL, as determined by your mobile carrier and messaging plan. HUMMBL does not charge you to receive SMS messages.

5.5 Carrier and Legal Compliance

The SMS program operates in compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), CTIA guidelines, and applicable state laws. We do not send SMS messages to numbers on any state or federal Do Not Call registry unless we have prior express written consent.

5.6 SMS Service Provider

SMS messages are delivered through Mailchimp (operated by Intuit Inc.) as our SMS messaging platform. Mailchimp processes your phone number and delivery data solely to deliver messages on our behalf.

5.7 No Delivery Warranty

We do not warrant that SMS messages will be delivered successfully, on time, or without error. Delivery depends on factors outside our control, including carrier networks, message filtering, and device compatibility. We are not liable for missed, delayed, or undelivered messages.

5.8 Termination of SMS Participation

We may suspend or terminate your participation in the SMS program at any time, with or without cause, including if we suspect fraud, abuse, or non-compliance with these terms. You may terminate your participation at any time by opting out as described in section 5.3.

6. Paid Services

HUMMBL offers paid advisory, audit, sprint, and retainer services, and sells coaching subscriptions, à la carte programs, assessments, sessions, and AI governance products through the storefront at pricing.hummbl.app. By purchasing a paid service or product, you agree to the terms in this section. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. HUMMBL LLC does not store your full card number, CVV, or other raw payment credentials.

6.1 Advisory Sessions

1-on-1 advisory sessions are $400 per 30-minute session, payable in advance via Stripe. The session is conducted over video call at a mutually agreed time. You may reschedule once at no charge with at least 24 hours notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice are non-refundable.

6.2 Quoted Engagements (Audits, Sprints, Retainers)

Readiness audits, implementation sprints, and monthly retainers are scoped and quoted after a free introductory call. A signed statement of work (SOW) or proposal must be accepted before work begins. Payment terms for quoted engagements are specified in the SOW and may include upfront deposits, milestone payments, or monthly invoicing.

6.3 Refund Policy

Purchases made through the storefront at pricing.hummbl.app are governed by the Refund Policy published there. The following terms apply to direct engagements:

• Advisory sessions: Full refund if cancelled more than 24 hours before the scheduled time. No refund for cancellations within 24 hours or for no-shows.
• Quoted engagements: Refund terms are specified in the SOW. Work completed up to the point of cancellation is billable. Unused upfront deposits for work not yet started are refundable.
• Retainers: Monthly retainer fees are non-refundable once the billing month has started. You may cancel future months with 30 days written notice.

6.4 Dispute Resolution

If you believe you were charged in error or are dissatisfied with a paid service or product, contact us before initiating a chargeback through your card issuer: for storefront purchases, email [email protected]; for direct engagements, contact us via GitHub Issues (reference "Billing Dispute" in the title). We will respond within 5 business days. Unresolved disputes are subject to the governing law in section 11.

6.5 Sales Tax

Applicable sales tax is calculated at checkout by Stripe Tax and included in the total charge. HUMMBL LLC is registered in Georgia, USA. Tax obligations for jurisdictions outside Georgia are assessed based on applicable nexus rules.

7. Disclaimer of Warranty

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HUMMBL AND ITS CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICES, REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HUMMBL and its contributors from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the services or your violation of these terms.

10. Intellectual Property

The HUMMBL name, logo, and brand assets are trademarks of Reuben Bowlby. The software and documentation are licensed under Apache 2.0. The Base120 mental model definitions are part of the open source registry and may be used under the terms of that registry's license.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States of America, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Colorado.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The source for this page is available on GitHub.
